Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a special 90-minute multi-media presentation celebrating the artists and musicians who helped to develop, define, and validate the music of live theater and film as an important art form. Transitions will discuss the evolution and impact of music in live theater and on film, and explore its development. The presentation will include the classic stage and film music of West Side Story, An American in Paris, The Incredibles, The Wizard of Oz, Young Frankenstein, Mission: Impossible, and Star Wars and feature artists including George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Aaron Copland, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Paul Simon, to name just a few.
