A program of the Suffolk County Department of Health Services Office of Minority Health and HRHCare to educate and celebrate mothers-to-be and their families.  

Presentation topics include: Signs of Preterm Labor & Delivery; Benefits of Breast Feeding; Safe Sleep Practices to Reduce the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS); Newborn & Pediatric Care; Prenatal Nutrition.

Baby shower raffles and games will be conducted throughout the program. Expectant mothers may win baby related prizes, such as, baby clothes, wipes, diapers, keepsake gifts, and gift baskets. Smart Start Suffolk will distribute baby books and informational handouts about parent friendly phone applications to encourage new mothers to read to their babies and to promote early learning and exploration.  Every expectant mother receives a take home gift along with packets of educational information and resources.

HRHCare and the Maternal and Infant Community Health Collaborative (MICHC) Program will provide staff to interpret for Spanish
speakers.

Community health organizations will be on hand to provide information about their services. Collaborators on hand may include:
