Program Description

Event Details

Leisurama was a line of inexpensive prefabricated houses sold  through Macy's department stores in the mid-1960s, and featured at the 1959 American National Exhibition in Moscow, prompting the historic Kitchen Debate between Vice President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.  Some 200 of the houses were built in Culloden Point in Montauk, where some still remain. We’ll listen to the podcast, and hear from the co-hosts for a lively discussion into this uniquely American phenomenon that proves there is truly no place like home. An EEPA event hosted with Westhampton Free Library.
